The American Councils for International Education is looking for a Web Developer in Washington, DC. According to the post, “The Client-side Web Programmer position is based in Washington, DC, and works within the Online Learning and Assessment Department to develop functional, attractive and usable interfaces for a suite of Web-based language testing tools. The Programmer works closely with the Senior Web Applications Developer and Technical Director to turn mockups and user stories into fully functional Web interfaces. This position reports to the Technical Director.”

Qualifications for the position include the following: “Minimum 2-3 years experience with client-side programming and interface design. Strong knowledge of one or more Javascript client libraries, including: jQuery, backbone.js, underscore.js, less.js, Twitter bootstrap. Experience using git/GitHub for version control and code management. Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and the state of their support in modern and legacy browsers. Familiarity with consuming RESTful APIs from a client perspective. Familiarity with Websockets and realtime communication on the Web. Familiarity with any client side development frameworks (Ember.js, Knockout, etc…). Strong understanding of RDF and related semantic web technologies. Some experience working with server-side templating languages, particularly Twig for PHP. Experience theming a CMS, particularly Drupal.”
