The post states, "The successful candidate for this role will: Develop and apply systems biology approaches to support target identification, patient tailoring, mechanistic characterization or compound repositioning efforts. Integrate data from public and internal resourcesfor analysis of results from ‘omics experiments. Represent LRL IT informatics on cross-functional teams, and effectively collaborate with other groups in biology, chemistry, statistics and patient tailoring. Identify and implement new technologies / capabilities."
Qualifications for the position include the following: "Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Chemistry or Biophysics, Computer Science, or related field. 2+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries or postdoctoral experience in a collaborative life science environment. Deep knowledge of bioinformatics and its public-domain resources for genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics. Foundational knowledge of statistics, relational databases (SQL) and data integration tools / technologies. Highly experienced with C++ or R/Bioconductor and working experience with interpreted languages such as Perl, Ruby, etc. Foundational knowledge of cheminformatics. Semantic technologies (RDF/OWL), RESTful web services, XML. Working experience in Next Generation Sequencing data management and analysis."
