Orbis is looking for a Software Developer in Annapolis, MD. According to the post, “Orbis Technologies, Inc. is interested in speaking to motivated Software developers at all levels who have an interest furthering their career in big data analytics and web services development.  Our team is interviewing for opportunities working at our corporate office in Annapolis, MD.  Candidates should reside or plan to relocate within commutable distance to Annapolis. Orbis offers excellent opportunities to learn and work in a small company environment that employs cutting edge technologies. Some of these tools and technologies include open source development predominantly in Java, cloud computing including the use of Hadoop, Accumulo, CloudBase, HBase, and core semantic web technologies.”

Qualifications for the position include: “U.S. citizenship and willingness to obtain a DoD security clearance. Candidates ideally will have 2-3+ years of experience developing web-based or cloud based solutions using Java or other object oriented language. Practical or theoretical knowledge of configuration and issue management tools (such as Subversion/Mercury/git and Trac/JIRA/Rally). Experience developing Web Services, programming with object oriented and/or declarative languages including experience with XML technologies such as XSLT, XQuery and/or XPath. Experience with cloud data storage systems (Accumulo, HBase, BigTable, etc.). Current Clearance is a Plus but not required. US Citizenship is required. Understands and ability to use Agile/SCRUM development methodologies Experience implementing semantic web technologies (OWL, RDF) in various customer deployed applications.”
