The University of Miami is looking for a Software Engineer. According to the post, “We are currently looking for a software engineer to participate in the design and construction of software tools that are being developed as part of the BAO, LIFE and RegenBase projects. These tools will facilitate the search, exploration, visualization and analysis of complex data generated by chemical biology experimental systems. The emphasis of these projects is on the development of user friendly search applications that leverage semantic models to help retrieve the most relevant results as quickly as possible. We will also be exploring methods of presentation and visualization.”

Qualifications for the position include: “3 years of experience developing multi-tier Java applications, and significant experience in the development of relational database applications. Preference will be given to applicants familiar with the biomedical domain, in particular small molecule chemicals and HTS data, bioinformatics and bioinformatics databases; semantic technologies, i.e. OWL, SPARQL, and Jena; and knowledge of Pubchem, PUG, PubChem XML schema and representations of chemical structures.”
