The University of Texas is looking for an Engineering Scientist Associate in Austin, TX. The post states, “Assist in the Research and Development efforts of the Signal and Information Sciences Laboratory of Applied Research Laboratories by participating in the design, implementation, testing and evaluation of data management applications to support DoD modeling and simulation activities. Design, develop, test, and integrate software and data structures to meet requirements of sponsored research projects. Test software developed by non-ARL:UT project personnel Communicate with project team members and supervisors for timely implementation of project requirements. Develop design and test procedures and test reports. Contribute to research publications and software documentation. Prepare and deliver presentations of project updates. Technical direction of student employees.”

Qualifications include: “Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer/software engineering, computer science or other applied sciences. Knowledge of: Java, HTML, Java Script and XML; conceptual data modeling, metadata development, and business process/workflow analysis (entry-relationship modeling, UML, RDF, OWL, XSD, BPEL and model-driving development); service-oriented architecture (SOA) design and implementation of Java server-based applications and both thin/thick client interfaces. Strong technical writing skills. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with diverse groups of clients.”
