About the Presentation

All work in any organization gets done through processes or business processes.  A process may be simply defined as “How Work Gets Done”, a series of steps undertaken to deliver some outcome of value to the stakeholders.  A process is initiated by an Event. It receives Inputs, which are transformed into Outputs using Guides to manage and control the process, and Enablers such as human resources, systems, data, and infrastructure to support execution of the process.  The interplay of these parts that constitute a process must be understood and analyzed holistically for optimizing the work to be done.  Using a simple exercise, attendees gained insights into the “process anatomy” and the role of its enabling professional practices such as Human Resources, Technology Development/IT, and Data Management etc.

You will learn:

  • The relationship of business process and its critical enablers: people, technology and infrastructure

  • The role of data in a business process: If process is a “body”, then data is the “nervous systems” that makes the body function

  • The fundamental language of Business Process Management (BPM) professional practice
