Talend has release a new whitepaper on Data Quality Dashboards in Support of Data Governance: “Today, an interesting trend is emerging when it comes to data management. Rather than having a team devoted to fixing data issues, time and energy are now more likely spent on isolating the root cause. With the emergence of data governance as a mainstream concept, companies are finding themselves proactively monitoring data and reporting the current state of data quality back to the origin. The trend shifts the focus of data quality from technology to process… and from IT to business.”
The abstract continues, “This white paper describes the emerging technology of data quality dashboards and how they are becoming more and more important to organizations formulating data governance strategies. New tools and new processes help a company to: understand what metrics are important to the organization, take a baseline of DQ metrics, monitor metrics over time, [and] report the metrics so that cross-functional teams can understand the impact.”
