According to a new article out of the company, “Zettaset, a leading Big Data software innovator, today announced the release of Orchestrator™ v5, the latest version of the company’s comprehensive Hadoop big data management platform. Orchestrator automates Hadoop installation and management with an enterprise-class solution. Zettaset outlined its SHadoop™ (Secure Hadoop) strategic initiative earlier this year at RSA, and is now delivering on that promise. Zettaset Orchestrator v5 addresses the security gaps and vulnerabilities that exist in all Apache-based Hadoop distributions. Hardened to address access control, policy, compliance and risk management, Orchestrator v5 includes several new features which significantly improve Hadoop cluster security and manageability.”
Features of the new release include: “(1) Support for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Active Directory (AD), enabling Hadoop clusters to seamlessly integrate with existing security policies within the enterprise environment. (2) Centralized configuration management, logging, and auditing, which maintains control of ingress and egress points in the cluster, and enables Hadoop clusters to meet compliance requirements for reporting and forensics. (3) Role-based access control (RBAC), which significantly improves the user authentication and access process, and enables Kerberos to be run against all components of a big data ecosystem, not just Hadoop.”
