According to a recent press release, “Crawford Technologies announced today the general release of its newest solution, ‘Data Extractor Express’, a ground-breaking product that enables access to large amounts of data stored in ECM solutions and prepares it for reuse in analytics applications. The first solution of its kind, ‘Data Extractor Express’ offers the unique ability to retrieve customer and business data points spanning years and decades of activity, providing a complete picture for analysis. ‘Data Extraction Express’ is a purpose-built application that allows knowledge workers to specify a set of documents from which data will be extracted. It has the capability of processing millions of invoices, statements, bills, reports and other documents.”

The press release goes on, “Using business rules, ‘Data Extractor Express’ extracts documents from archives such as the IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) for analysis. Those documents are interrogated to pull out pertinent data for analysis in big data and analytics tools. ‘The ability to use big data and analytics tools on data that has been stored in organization archives — ‘dark data’ — can yield significant business intelligence information, especially when it is combined with structured data,’ said Ernie Crawford, President of Crawford. ‘I am excited that our early customers have derived significant value from this technology, and I feel it will yield great value to many businesses and government organizations’.”
