First Niagara Financial Group is looking for a Senior Director of Data Management and Governance in Buffalo, NY. The post states, “This is a new position that is responsible driving the ongoing design and implementation of a strategic data management program for customer, finance and risk data that will ensure data is developed and managed as a strategic business asset.  This role will serve as the corporate ‘Virtual Leader’ of First Niagara’s 1) data management program including Governance and execution, 2) the Bank’s Finance profitability and planning systems and 3) the Bank’s business CRM system.  As Corporate “Virtual Leader” of these, this role will serve as the liaison between Business design and Technology implementation strategy for each of the three areas.  This role will drive key decisions through the Bank’s Management Committee for direction on strategy and Operating Committee for execution of that strategy.”

Qualifications include: “A minimum of 15 years experience in data management, financial profitability and/or CRM systems and management processes including strong knowledge of financial services.  Well demonstrated people management and leadership skills. Success in a matrix management and partnership environment is a must. Strong knowledge of decision and risk management systems, information system standards and business systems analysis. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills. Must have the ability to interact with individuals across various levels. A high level of initiative and established critical thinking skills.  Demonstrated project management skills, including management of large data projects.”
