A new press release reports, “Magnitude Software, a leading provider of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) software, today announced the acquisition of Simba Technologies Inc., a global leader in cross-platform standards-based data access solutions for relational, multi-dimensional and non-relational data sources. The acquisition expands Magnitude Software’s corporate performance management (CPM), master data management (MDM) and data connectivity capabilities.”

Chris Ney, Chairman & CEO of Magnitude Software, noted, “This acquisition furthers our strategic vision to enable enterprise-wide visibility and insights for corporate performance management… As data heterogeneity expands exponentially, so does the complexity of connectivity challenges that Simba can help solve, accelerating our ability to put data into the hands of business users. The experience and knowledge of the Simba team, combined with the capabilities to deliver connectivity to a wide variety of data sources, increase Magnitude Software’s growth trajectory in reporting, analytics, and data management within the information management market.”

The release adds, “Magnitude Software products provide customers with: operational reporting and analytics in the form of pre-packaged solutions for commonly sought-after functional business areas; and reliable, trustworthy data, through its master data management solutions. Simba Technologies provides data access between front-end applications and back-end data sources, bridging the gap between innovative and non-conventional data sources to the universal industry standard. Since the early 1990’s, Simba has worked closely with leading software vendors, such as Microsoft Corp., to enable universal access to the most widely deployed data sources through ODBC, the defacto database connectivity standard.”
