Storage Made Easy Joins Google Cloud Platform Marketplace

According to a recent press release, “Storage Made Easy™ (SME) today announced that it has joined the Google Cloud Partner Program as a Technology Partner, and that it’s Enterprise File Fabric™ solution is now available through the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Marketplace, providing customers an even easier onramp onto the File Fabric platform. As a Google Cloud partner, SME allows customers to quickly deploy a multi-cloud File Fabric on GCP.”

The release notes that “Key benefits include: (1) A Familiar File System- Users and administrators access and manage their cloud storage as a virtual hierarchical file system. They can use their existing desktop tools and applications, as well as drag-and-drop files and folders between storage clouds. (2) Coexisting Applications- A protocol adapter allows object-based and file-based applications to use the same storage, with no obfuscation. FTP and WebDAV spoken too. (3) Full Content Search- Find the right assets quickly through a full content search and metadata index. The solution extracts metadata and content from video, images and other media using Google Cloud ML services.”

It adds, “Google Cloud customers are using SME to take advantage of the high durability, scalability and low cost of Google Cloud Storage.With SME’s File Fabric, customers are able to securely extend access to end users and existing file-based applications, significantly reducing migration costs to the cloud.”
