Niruta Talwekar has been building data infrastructure and risk metrics for ML systems for about 15 years. Most of her work is figuring out how to measure fairness in production pipelines where tradeoffs between accuracy and accountability are real and messy. She contributes to open source and spends time on AI safety research.
