About the Webinar
Metadata is the strategic language for AI-driven data discovery content and management. Improving your metadata practices permits:
- Better understanding of data value
- Metadata to become the language of data governance
- Glossaries/repositories to be addressed as
capabilities not technology
to be built from existing starter kits/
building blocks
Metadata – literally, data about data – is a practice area required by all organizations. Understanding metadata and its associated technologies as more than just straightforward tools can provide powerful insight into the efficiency of organizational practices, and enable you to combine them into sophisticated techniques supporting larger and more complex business initiatives more effectively. Program learning objectives include:
- Applying foundational metadata concepts
- Understanding how to leverage metadata practices in support of business strategyApproaching metadata technology investments cautiously
Through practical examples, such as the iTunes Music library and a library’s card catalog, the presentation demonstrates how metadata defines organizational interoperability and makes data understandable and valuable. The core message is that by mastering metadata, organizations can move beyond the “Blind Persons and the Elephant” problem of fragmented data understanding and build the essential infrastructure needed to power AI and achieve strategic goals.
