LightStep Releases New Capabilities That Improve Visibility for Companies Adopting Microservices

By on

According to a recent press release, “LightStep, the leading provider of application performance management for organizations adopting microservices, today announced new product capabilities that transform how organizations visualize and manage application performance and dramatically reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR) for production incidents. With these improvements, LightStep enables teams to recognize abnormal performance and immediately focus on what has changed. Enterprise Strategy Group Sr. Analyst Edwin Yuen said: ‘The application landscape has changed dramatically in the past few years and traditional APM tools are no longer sufficient for new technologies like microservices, serverless and cloud native applications. LightStep has made a significant step forward not only by monitoring both modern and legacy workloads, but in leveraging capabilities such as advanced histograms to visualize performance issues. Companies leveraging modern application platforms should look at LightStep for their performance monitoring needs’.”

The release continues, “Key new features include: (1) Latency histograms for anything. LightStep [x]PM renders precise histograms to characterize any aspect of system performance, regardless of granularity, and in real time. (2) Historical context. Real-time histogram data is presented in context of historical histograms from one hour, one day, or one week prior. (3) Dynamically filterable results. Organizations can narrow or broaden scope as needed to pinpoint any performance issue, all interactively and in real time.”
