March 2016 DATAVERSITY Letter from the Editor

By on

Spring is working on springing here in the northern hemisphere and we’re just a little more than a month away from our first face-to-face conference. Enterprise Data World (EDW) is one of our biggest events of the year and we’ve made it even bigger this year not only with the continued add-on of our two day Data Strategy event CDO Vision and a two-day Semantic Forum, Financial Industry Business Ontology; but we’ve also merged on one of our other big events, NoSQL Now! to the mix. One registration fee and you have access to these events and an incredible amount of education over the period of a week.

EDW is an event we move across the country year-over-year. Last year it was in Washington DC. This year it will be back on the west coast in sunny San Diego, California. It’s a lovely city with great restaurants and a lot to explore when you’re not learning about Enterprise Data Management. This year the conference will be held April 17 through April 22nd.

As in earlier years, I will be at the DATAVERSITY booth when exhibits are open at EDW. It’s one of my favorite tasks of the year as it’s my opportunity to meet so many people I’ve worked with online over the year as well as meet all of our webinar attendees. We’ll have a giveaway again this year, so stop by, say hello! Let me know what you love and what’s missing on the website. We’ll also be making some announcements on the availability on even more education we’ll be making available.

Following on the tail of EDW is our Data Governance and Information Quality 2016 Conference (DGIQ) also in San Diego. This year DGIQ will be held June 27 – July 1. The event has grown, so we’ve switched venues for the first time in many years. This year DGIQ will be held at the Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter.

Let the education continue!
