It mobile data governance x300was recently reported by PRWeb that GCI has announced significant upgrades to GCI Managed Video Conferencing, allowing customers to virtually collaborate using a desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile device without being tethered to conference room hardware. With the workforce becoming increasingly mobile, GCI’s flexible, cloud-based offering will allow customers to connect without the tethers of room-based video conferencing hardware. Users can still enjoy the benefits of high-definition video, screen sharing and 24/7 customer support.

“GCI launched this service to meet the demands of today’s increasingly mobile workforce,” said Martin Cary, senior vice president and general manager of GCI Business. “With managed video conferencing, our customers can connect with colleagues and clients anytime, anywhere and with a variety of devices.”
Traditional room-based video conferencing systems can be expensive while also limiting where calls can be made and who can be called. This upgraded service has a pay-per-use option, making the offering highly scalable, without restricting calls to those using the same service. Additional features and benefits include:

  • Secure access via the internet or dedicated connections
  • High-quality HD video with screen- and data-sharing support
  • Flexible bandwidth use depending on user requirements and network performance
  • Support for any device (room system, PC, mobile, tablet) from any location

“Video conferencing on the go is critical for enterprise customers to conduct meetings, clinics to connect with specialty doctors and schools to provide distance learning opportunities,” said Cary. “GCI has been providing managed video conferencing service for more than a decade and we want to provide a variety of options that meet our customers’ needs.”
